ASI Announces Annual Holiday Exhibition—Remember When

Exploring holiday nostalgia at the Twin Cities’ only castle
September 8, 2026 By Darby Johnson

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—September 8, 2026— The American Swedish Institute (ASI) is delighted to announce its annual holiday celebration, Remember When, on view from November 7 to January 24, 2027.

This season, ASI’s annual holiday experience will transform the historic Turnblad Mansion into a nostalgic dream of traditions and gatherings. ASI invites visitors to celebrate together by reliving cherished holiday memories through classic moments captured and creating new ones throughout the exhibition.

In each decorated space, visitors can view a different time from previous decades, see familiar faces like trolls from the Jolly Troll restaurant, vintage commercials, toys, and shared personal memories. This exhibition was created in partnership with Bound Collaborative, Studio Moss, Danish Teak Classic, Carole Jean Anderson, and ASI Volunteers.

ASI’s annual holiday experience is a Twin Cities tradition, including the unique exhibition, seasonal Nordic food from FIKA Café, a destination gift store, and one of the region’s largest holiday handcraft markets.

“ASI has grown to be a Twin Cities holiday tradition for many over the decades,” said Ingrid Nyholm-Lange, COO at ASI. “This year’s holiday exhibition celebrates those cherished memories and invites our guests to create new ones. We’re thankful to those who have shared their time with us, and we welcome everyone to enjoy the traditions, stories, and experiences that make the holiday season at ASI so special.”
