Field Trips

Students and chaperones will be led on a guided tour of the Turnblad Mansion or the current exhibition. 

Time: 30-60 minutes 

Pricing: $10 per student 

Ages: Any grade 

Students will learn about Swedish immigration or Swedish celebrations throughout the year through educational artifacts. 

Time: 30-60 minutes 

Pricing: $15 per student 

Ages: 3rd grade and older 

Students will learn about Swedish slöjd, or handcraft, and walk away with a finished project. Handcraft projects could include one of the following: 

• Needled felted picture or ornament 

• Painted Dala horses 

• Paper quilled ornaments or cards 

Time: 30-60 minutes depending on the age of the group 

Pricing: $20 per student 

Age: Any grade 

Groups can combine any of the three activities above for their field trip. ASI can accommodate 20 students per activity. Adults will not participate in handcraft programs. If you decide to combine activities, the pricing is below:  

• Tour + Artifact Analysis: $20 per student 

• Artifact Analysis + Handcraft: $30 per student  

• Tour + Handcraft: $30 

• Tour + Artifact Analysis + Handcraft: $35 per student  

• Additional Adults: $15 per adult  

Please note these booking details:

• Field trips can be scheduled on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 9 am and 2 pm.
• Field trips must be booked a minimum of 3 weeks in advance.
• Groups must be a minimum of 10 students and 1 chaperone. The maximum number of students ASI can accommodate is 60.
• 1 chaperone is admitted for free for every 10 students. Additional chaperones are $15 per person.
• The final number of participants must be confirmed with ASI staff at least 2 weeks in advance for experiences that include handcraft workshops and at least 1 week in advance for all other activities.
