Celebrate Saint Lucia

Celebrate the magic of Saint Lucia Day with this cherished seasonal tradition at the American Swedish Institute. The Lucia Choir brings light to the darkest time of year through beautiful concerts.

Open to all K–12 youth who are current ASI members, the choir welcomes all skill levels—no Swedish language knowledge required! Participants are separated into two choirs based on age.

To be eligible for participation in Lucia Choir, participants and/or their families must meet the following requirements:

  • Active ASI Family Membership
  • $40 registration fee per child 
  • One volunteer shift per family 
  • Participants must be enrolled in grades K–12
  • Signed attendance agreement form (sent via email after registration closes)

Lucia Choir Registration Details

Limited availability—If all 2024 participants return, only four choir spots will be open for 2025.

September 15 at 10 am—Registration opens for families who participated in the 2024 season.

September 29 at 10 am—If spots are still available, registration opens for families who participated in Lucia Choir before 2024 and/or are enrolled in ASI’s Svenska Skolan in 2024 or 2025.

October 6 at 10 am—If spots are still available, registration opens to new families

 

  • Choir I: Sundays, 1–1:45 pm
  • Choir II: Sundays, 2–3 pm
  • Rehearsals: November 9, 16, 23, 30
  • Dress Rehearsals: December 7 (4:30–6 pm) & December 10 (5–7 pm)
