Paint a glowing watercolor portrait in this three-day workshop with artist Tara Sweeney. Students will work from a photo reference to create a three-layer monochromatic value study and then a full color painting in a four-value, hold-the-white approach to transparent watercolor. Students will build confidence as they explore split-primary color mixing, wet-into-wet mingling, transparent layering, intentional edges, and lively brushwork with playful warm up exercises, expert support, and individualized feedback. Following along with the instructor, step-by-step, students will develop foundational skills for painting watercolor portraits.
