Experience the surreal photography of Finnish-Norwegian artists Riitta Ilkonen and Karoline Hjorth in the new exhibition Eyes as Big as Plates with an infant. Caregivers and babies up to 18 months connect with this exhibition, which showcases humans in harmony with nature through whimsical portraits that explore who we are and where we belong. ASI educators guide caregivers and babies through each stop, offering fun, age-appropriate activities that foster connection with the art and with each other. Caregivers leave strollers behind and carry infants to engage with the portraits at eye level, supporting early visual learning and developmental growth. The tour builds curiosity, interpretation, and imagination through purposeful observation.

Additional information:

  • The program includes a 30-minute guided tour, followed by 15 minutes of sensory play in the Castle before it opens to the public.
  • Museum admission is included, allowing participants to explore the exhibition, the Turnblad Mansion, the Family Gallery, and ASI’s outdoor, fenced-in spaces.
  • Advanced registration required.
