Babies at the Castle

Share Swedish art and culture with your baby during a morning of exploration at the Turnblad Mansion.

Caregivers and infants up to 18 months are invited to experience ASI’s annual holiday experience, Remember When, in the historic Turnblad Mansion. During this special tour, babies and their caregivers explore festive displays, discover stories from the past, and engage with the sights, sounds, and details of the holiday season together. Through close looking, shared attention, and simple activities, families build meaningful connections with art, history, and each other.

ASI educator Jason Leuthold guides caregivers and babies through each stop, offering age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and engagement. Caregivers carry infants at eye level, allowing babies to experience artwork and installations up close while supporting early visual exploration and shared discovery. Each 30-minute tour offers a unique experience and concludes with 15 minutes of sensory play in the Castle before it opens to the public at 10 am.

Additional Information:

• Admission is included with registration, allowing participants to explore the current exhibition and the Benson Family Gallery after the program.
• Advanced registration is required.
• Please register by the Friday before the program.
• ASI may cancel the program if registration is low.
• Strollers are not permitted in exhibition spaces.
• ASI educators encourage caregivers to carry infants so babies can view artwork and installations at eye level.
• Food, beverages, and chewing gum are not permitted in exhibition spaces.
