American Swedish Institute is committed to the health and public safety of all visitors, volunteers, staff and the greater community. We follow the current Minnesota health guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Masks are optional for all vaccinated visitors and are advised for anyone who is unvaccinated.
Visitors will find hand sanitizer stations throughout ASI’s campus.
Walk-up visitors are welcome. Guests may still register for museum admission in advance if preferred.
ASI is committed to providing a clean and safe experience for all and provides hand sanitizer throughout the buildings. ASI frequently cleans and disinfects all spaces—especially high-traffic areas. The historic surfaces throughout the Turnblad Mansion, because they do not tolerate harsh cleaning products, are regularly dusted and cleaned with soap and water.
ASI uses an advanced air–regulation system connected to its geothermal heating and cooling. Air filters have been upgraded and are frequently replaced. Portable HEPA filters are also placed throughout the Turnblad Mansion where modern ventilation systems may not present.
ASI suggests that all visitors be vaccinated against COVID-19. Visitors are also asked to assess their health before arriving and stay home if feeling ill.
All visitors to the Museum need to stop by the front desk and check in. Fika’ diners can check in at the restaurant counter. Reservations are not available.
Please give priority for the elevators to those with mobility needs. Stairs are available for those who chose to use them.
The ASI Museum Store now has an online component. Click here to check it out.
While increased vaccinations have made going to public places safer, a visit to a public space, including a museum, still includes an inherent risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
ASI employees contribute to creating a clean, safe, enjoyable museum environment.
Face coverings are now optional, including for staff and visitors.
While we are transitioning with the new developments, many staff are still working from home or on staggered in-person shifts.
