Tara Austin is an artist with an MFA in Painting who specializes in the folk art of Rosemaling. In 2014 she took her first rosemaling class at the North House Folk School. Since then, she completed a yearlong Rosemaling Apprenticeship with a Vesterheim Gold Medalist focusing on Telemark and Gudbransdal styles. She is a recent recipient of the American Scandinavian Foundation Artist Fellowship for Folk Arts & Cultural Traditions and a 2021 ASI Teaching Tools Grant teaching artist.
