Mike Hughes started taking classes in Scandinavian-style woodcarving in 2009, and continued taking classes and making carvings since then. Mike has also taught chip carving in local Community Ed and local carving clubs. Mike enjoys acanthus carving and figure carving and has displayed his carvings at the Nordic Fest in Decorah, IA, the Minnesota State Fair, and the Dakota County Fair.
