Kim Ode has been a baking instructor at North House Folk School for almost 10 years. During her career at the Star Tribune, she led the Taste section’s Baking Central feature. She learned to bake at her mother’s elbow in South Dakota, but since has explored many baking avenues, though with an emphasis on Nordic traditions. Kim has written two cookbooks for the Minnesota Historical Society Press: Rhubarb Renaissance, and Baking With the St. Paul Bread Club: Recipes, Tips, and Stories, which was a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award. She and her husband live in Edina.
