About ASI / Instructors / Kayla Ann

Kayla Ann

Kayla Ann is a Seattle-based artist whose work celebrates the joy and beauty of nature through surface pattern design and illustration. Drawing inspiration from her Nordic heritage, she weaves her love of vintage motifs and nostalgic charm, incorporating elements from the earth, sky, and seasons to create designs that feel both timeless and fresh.

Additionally, Kayla is an established teaching artist in the Minneapolis and Seattle handcraft communities. She shares her passion for Nordic craft through classes in fiber arts, including needle felting and embroidery, as well as block printing and kolrosing (etching in wood). Through both her artwork and her teaching, Kayla seeks to inspire others to connect with the natural world and the rich cultural traditions that continue to shape her creative journey.
