About ASI / Instructors / Josh Torkelson

Josh Torkelson

Instructor Josh Torkelson is a sculptor, photographer and maker of all sorts. He is fascinated by the intersections of traditional craft, artistic practice and community building. As a young Cub Scout, Josh fell in love with handicraft work, but really fell in deep while immersed in the traditional craft community at St. Olaf college. Josh has studied numerous crafts including basket weaving, bookbinding, historic-process photography and ceramics. He has taught at Articulture Minneapolis, St. Olaf College and the Northfield Arts Guild. Josh hopes to spread the maker-bug to everyone he meets.
