Elizabeth “Helvi” Brauer

Elizabeth “Helvi” Brauer (she/her/hän) has taught Finnish language in a variety of learning environments and worked with students of all ages for over 13 years. She has studied Finnish language, Finnish cultural studies, and international education in Finland at both the University of Tampere and the University of Oulu. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a double major in Scandinavian Studies and Sociology/Anthropology. Based in Minneapolis, Helvi is active in the Midwest Nordic community and is the founder of Luumu – Finnish Living.
