Students in grades K-2 are invited to explore Nordic handcraft in the monthly Starting with Slöjd program. This month’s focus is making Swedish holiday decorations with straw.
Starting with Slöjd is a monthly program for early elementary students. Participants explore new tools, materials, and skills that prepare them for a lifelong love of handcraft. Learn to work with straw like the Swedes do around the holidays!
Anna Ruhland will teach students how to make star-shaped straw ornaments based on Swedish traditions. Students can use straw or compostable straws to create their ornaments. These projects make for great handmade holiday gifts!
