Try out the basic brushstrokes of Gudbrandsdal-style rosemaling in this afternoon long class! This class is perfect for students who have never tried rosemaling before but want to learn about the basic techniques and materials of traditional Norwegian folk painting. Working on tracing paper and a small wooden plaque, students will practice the fundamentals while learning about the history of this specific rosemaling style with folk artist Tara Austin.

Prerequisites:

  • Skill level: This workshop is open to all and is especially geared towards beginners.
  • Ages: Suitable for ages 18+ or ages 14-17 are welcome to register alongside an accompanying adult. A discounted ticket price for students 14-17 is available at checkout.
