Try your hand at the Norwegian art of Skinnfell and create unique holiday ornaments and decorations.

Add some Skinnfell ornaments to your tree, doorknob, or holiday decorations this year. Skinnfell is a Norwegian embellished sheepskin, traditionally printed with wood block stamps. While learning about the unique history of this craft, participants will cut, print, and stitch two ornaments from pieces of tanned sheepskins. Instructor Becky Utecht will present a variety of ornament options and share traditional Norwegian wood blocks to use in class. Students may expect to complete one bearded tomte and one heart ornament in class and may take home materials for another one, depending on their previous sewing experience.
