Matt is a carver of Scandinavian flat-plane figures and green wood spoons based in the Twin Cities. He first encountered whittling as a Boy Scout. Today, he continues to make shavings at home—a practice he finds quiet, restorative, and satisfying—which often results in a unique gift for a loved one. He is passionate about helping both the young and old alike get started in wood carving.
