Carve a Veggie

Learn how to carve miniature wooden vegetables with carving instructor Maeve Gathje in this beginner-level course. You will be introduced to the Scandinavian-style flat-plane carving tradition, and learn basic knife grips and carving techniques. Several design options will be available, and you can expect to complete at least two or three vegetables during the class. In addition, you’ll learn about acquiring and preparing materials and tools, and approaches to painting and finishing. The finished carved vegetables can be used for display, playtime, or even to make a statement necklace.

This course is open to individuals aged 16 and above, or children aged 11 and above accompanied by a registered adult.
