Jeanette Torkelson

Jeanette Torkelson discovered her passion for green wood carving when she took her first class in 2019 at Fireweed Woodshop. She realized that carving is more enjoyable with sharp tools and was fortunate to learn sharpening techniques at ASI. She received guidance from skilled instructors like Paul Linden, Fred Livesay, and Andrew – her co-teacher whom she met through ASI craft classes. Jeanette likes to create bowls, weave baskets, and ride her bike in her free time. Her favorite tool is the Julia Kalthoff axe.
