Step beyond sock puppets in this intergenerational class with felting instructor Elise. Students will create 3-D characters of their own design, including ears, arms, feet, and a mouth with any expression they can imagine. Using wool fiber as the base material, the wool is transformed into a three-dimensional hollow object using water, soap, and the student’s energy. After sculpting and shaping the puppet, students can decide if they’d prefer to stuff it, creating a stuffed animal, or keep it as a puppet. Suitable for ages 5-12 alongside an adult. Intergenerational program: This program is for one kid and one adult to attend together, and each work on their own projects. Please reach out if you wish to confirm available space for additional children to attend with a registered adult. Physical ability: Skill level: Open to all skill levels. Ages: This program is for children ages 5-12 and an adult. A $50 materials fee is due to the instructor in class and covers all materials and tools for both an adult and child. If possible, students should bring 1-2 old bath towels, a bag to take home wet projects, and an apron.
