This class runs Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, 10 am-5 pm both days.

Join Elise Kyllo to create a durable and beautiful felted bag that can take anything you throw in it! Using a design adapted from Danish felter Mette Oestman, students will use a seamless resist method to make this three-dimensional piece. On the first day, students will start by practicing all the necessary techniques on a smaller vessel before laying out and felting the full-sized bag, complete with a pocket (perfect for a cell phone) and a sturdy coiled strap. Discussions about wool and felting, color and design, and felting adventures will complete the weekend.

Some students may be interested in getting a feel for felting with a half-day felted flower workshop, the Friday before this weekend’s workshop!

  • Age: Open to ages 16+.
