Nordic Book Circle

monthly Contemporary Nordic literature is full of diverse literary voices, styles, and genres. This September 2025 through May 2026 the ASI Nordic Book Circle will gather in person monthly to read and discuss a work of Nordic literature in English translation. This series will focus on works of twentieth and twenty-first century literature that explore senses of place. From rural to urban, past to present, in the Nordic countries and beyond, the group will explore a selected list of readings by Nordic authors and consider the varieties of places—and the environments, communities, and particular qualities held within each of the places considered in these literary works. Those who love to read and discuss literature and would like to expand their appreciation of literature from various parts of the world (the Nordic world in particular) are invited to join!
