This is a multi day event The sights and sounds of the Scandinavian marketplace come to ASI for three days during the first weekend in December at one of the region’s largest handcraft markets and festivals. Shop handmade goods from regional artists. Browse exceptional items from ASI’s own Jul Shop, alongside distinctive artisan glass, clothing, wood, jewelry, ceramics, and textiles.

Perfect for all ages, Julmarknad features pop-up musical performances, family crafts, story time, and festival foods that celebrate the season.

ASI’s Julmarknad is one of the busiest and most magical weekends of the year. Along with an incredible holiday exhibition experience, pop-up performances, and unique shopping from local artists, expect limited parking, a concession-style menu from FIKA Café, and a bustling campus.

Ticketed Entry
ASI offers timed ticketed entry to control wait times for admission. Once inside, guests may stay as long as they wish and should expect a full campus and some lines for food and shopping. Saturday and Sunday afternoons are the least busy times.

Getting Here
Limited parking is available in ASI’s parking lot. On-street parking is available on surrounding streets. ASI encourages the use of carpooling, ride-sharing services, or public transit to avoid parking on-site.

Shopping Options
Julmarknad offers a variety of shopping options across campus. Make sure to visit ASI’s Museum Store and Jul Shop, the artist market across campus, and the pop-up vendors in the courtyard.

Food and Beverage
FIKA Café offers a concession-style menu for the weekend with traditional Swedish specialties, including Swedish meatballs, hot dogs, open-faced sandwiches, and kid-friendly options. Coffee, cocoa, and glögg (Swedish mulled wine) are available along with homemade cookies and pastries. Cash and card accepted.

Other Activities
Along with shopping, make sure to visit the historic Turnblad Mansion dressed up for the holidays, try out family-friendly craft activities, and enjoy pop-up music performances and storytelling. The outdoor spaces have bonfires, refreshments, and games, weather permitting. Saturday also includes ASI’s annual Kubb league tournament–come cheer on the teams all day!
