Join celebrated author Kao Kalia Yang at the American Swedish Institute for the launch of her two new children’s books, A Home on the Page (Carolrhoda Books) and The Blue House I Loved (University of Minnesota Press).

During this special family-friendly program, Kao Kalia Yang will read both books as their pages are projected on a large screen, bringing each story to life. A Q&A wil follow, giving readers the chance to connect with the author, and she will stay afterward to sign copies of her books.

A Home on the Page tells the story of finding belonging in a world that is not always understanding, kind, or friendly. The Blue House I Loved celebrates the memory of a cherished home that keeps a family close.

Both exquisitely illustrated books echo ASI’s mission, bringing the past into conversation with the present, and building possibilities for the future. Kao Kalia Yang is an award-wining author of books for children and adults including Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature winner From the Tops of the Trees and an Asian/Pacfic American Award for Literature Honor for The Rock in My Throat. She lives in Minnesota and is committed to the telling of stories that will inspire hope, find beauty, and offer refuge to those in need.
