Seth Eberle returns by popular demand with Dreams of Owls! From the creative mind behind The Box King and With Stars Above, Seth presents Dream of Owls, during two special May mornings at ASI. Families will delight in this engaging puppet performance.
In Dream of Owls, little Theo drifts off to sleep but is frightened by a hooting sound. His father teaches him to face his fear by naming it. Guided by a strangely familiar dream dragon, Theo learns about Owl, the source of the sound, and discovers how knowledge can banish his nightmare. Developed in collaboration with professional naturalists and environmental educators from Silverwood Park and the Minnesota Zoo, and refined with feedback from experienced puppeteers, this show combines educational accuracy with engaging, imaginative puppetry for families.
Seth Eberle is a Minneapolis-based puppet artist who uses diverse puppetry forms to tell stories for family audiences, with a focus on contemporary marionette performance. Seth began his puppetry career in college, interning with Bread and Puppet Theater, the Nordnorsk Opera of Norway, and In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater.
After touring a poetic puppet show across the U.S., he settled in Minneapolis, became an Associate Artist at HOBT, and developed his skills in stage productions and Saturday matinees. As a teaching artist, Seth works across artistic mediums and organizations. He currently teaches at Silverwood Park, combining arts and environmental education for learners of all ages. He also partners with local schools to integrate puppetry and nature education. Seth holds a Graduate Certificate in Natural Science and Environmental Education from Hamline University and continues to inspire audiences and students through his art.
Dream of Owls was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
