SUMMARY:Starting with Slöjd: Paper Quilled Valentines
DESCRIPTION:Students in grades K-2 are invited to explore Nordic handcraft in the monthly Starting with Slöjd program. This month’s focus is paper quilling. \nStarting with Slöjd is a monthly program for early elementary students. Participants explore new tools\, materials\, and skills that prepare them for a lifelong love of handcraft. This month\, we’re making one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day cards! \nAnna Ruhland will teach young makers the art of paper quilling\, using a variety of techniques to make different shapes out of colorful paper. These shapes can then be glued onto a Valentine’s Day card! \nAdditional information: \n\nThese are drop-off programs. Adults may not accompany children during this program.\nSuitable for students who are currently in Kindergarten through 2nd grade (ages 6-8).\nPhoto Credit: Melissa Hansen
