SUMMARY:Winter Squash in the Nordic Kitchen with Kristi Bissell
DESCRIPTION:While winter squash is a newer transplant to the Swedish garden\, in recent years it has become an increasingly popular ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes. Join Kristi Bissell as she demonstrates several cozy Nordic-inspired recipes from her blog True North Kitchen\, including a pumpkin rye sweet bread and a butternut squash galette. Students are sure to leave with new ideas and skills for putting this seasonal produce to good use! \nAdditional information:\nAdvanced registration required. \nVirtual class requirements: This is a live virtual class taught over Zoom. Students need a strong internet connection and a device with video capabilities. \nClass structure: This class is designed as a demonstration so students can watch the entire process and ask questions before tackling the dishes at home. The recipe packet will be available for download one week in advance. \nClass recording: Anyone is welcome to register for the class even if they don’t plan to attend live\, as the class is recorded. The recording will be available for all registrants to review one month after class.

SUMMARY:Nepali Momo Workshop with Subash Yadav
DESCRIPTION:Join Subash Yadav\, founder of local company Mr. Momo\, for a hands-on crash course on one of the happiest foods: the Nepali momo! These tender dumplings are a well-loved Nepali recipe and can be steamed or pan fried. However\, there are few tricks for tackling the dumpling dough\, fillings\, and shaping at home. Subash will share tips and lead students through a practice session\, and each student will make enough to taste a few and even take some home. \nASI’s food programs connect people as we celebrate\, learn\, and share stories together through cooking workshops\, demonstrations\, dinners\, and lectures. ASI’s Our Shared Table series highlights our neighbor’s kitchens\, and how food traditions are preserved and changed through the universal experience of migration and exchange. \n  \nAdditional information \n\nThis is a hands-on workshop-style class that includes some tastes; students may want to eat a light meal before class.\nCoffee and tea are provided; additional beverages are available for purchase prior to class.\nPlease reach out if you have questions about dietary accommodations.\nAdvanced registration required.\n\n  \nOur Shared Table is sponsored by Sahan Journal.
