Spin the night away as you transform fibers into hand-spun yarn. This hands-on class with fiber artist Riley Kleve welcomes beginning spinners to the essentials of yarn making using a simple and portable tool, the hand spindle. From spindle selection through a quick fiber overview, to inspiration for future spinning opportunities, Riley will cover these basics as students practice using a provided spindle. Whatever your yarn dreams may be, whether you hope to spin on a wheel or you want a simple craft to take on the go, this class will get you started! Physical ability: Please note, spinning requires motor skills in two hands. Skill level: Open to all skill levels. Ages: Suitable for ages 16+. A $15 materials fee is payable to the instructor and covers all materials and tools use in class. Spindles may be purchased from the instructor to take home for an extra $15 at the end of class.
