Beach Inspired Fused Glass Plates with Susan Tracy

The beauty of the seasons takes us from winter to spring and soon, summer! In celebration of the season, we can enjoy the beach at our lakes, rivers, and a bit further away at the ocean. To remind us of their breathtaking views with sandy shores, blue-green waters, gentle breezes and the rhythmic sound of waves year-round, please join us to design and create your own custom pair of beach-inspired fused glass plates.

Glass artist Susan Tracy will guide students through the first steps of making a pair of 6″ fused glass plates using glass sheet, frit, stringer, and sparkly dichroic glass. These plates are perfect for appetizers, desserts, or simply displaying on a table to admire. While designing their plates, students will learn more about the art of glass fusing and slumping, which takes place after class in the instructor’s studio.

• Skill level: Open to all levels, no previous experience necessary.
• Ages: Suitable for ages 18+.
• A $45 materials fee payable to the instructor covers all materials and tools.
• The instructor will fuse and slump class creations in her glass kiln and return them to ASI for pick up in about three weeks.
