SUMMARY:Svensk poesi: Modern Poetry in Swedish - Kjerstin Moody
DESCRIPTION:Read Swedish poetry with Kjerstin Moody. \nThis class meets weekly on Tuesdays from January 5–26\, 2027. \nThis class\, taught in Swedish\, is designed for students at the A2 to B1 levels who would like to dive into the rich trove of poetry written in Swedish during the 20th and 21st centuries. For the first half of class each week\, students will work in small groups with peers at the same Swedish-language level to parse and discuss a pre-assigned sampling of poems. During the second half of each week’s class\, students will come together to talk about the assigned poems’ content\, structure\, feeling\, voice\, and meaning. The end of class each week will be dedicated to a brief discussion of word choice and English translation. We will read 6-10 short poems each week\, assigned by the instructor in advance of each class period. \nAdditional information: \n\nNo materials required; poem selection will be provided to students by instructor Kjerstin Moody ahead of the class start date.\nAdvanced registration required.
