Workshop: Woven Wheat Christmas Ornaments

Registration has been closed.

Learn about the ancient craft of wheat weaving, which is traditional to Europe and Scandinavia, and make several Scandinavian holiday ornaments for your house or tree. After cleaning and preparing the wheat, you will learn from instructor Bonnie Buzza how to work with it to make a julbock (Christmas goat), a tomte or two, and maybe a simple plaited ornament. Perhaps you’ll even take some wheat home to make even more ornaments to give away this holiday season! Good hand strength and dexterity is required.

A $15 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. Students should also bring an apron, an old towel, a pair of heavy old scissors, and a grocery bag. Additionally, students may bring any fun holiday themed ribbon to decorate their new ornaments.
