Workshop: DIY Beeswax Wraps

This program is sold out. Please call 612-871-4907 to be added to a waitlist.

Create two reusable and sustainable beeswax-coated food wraps while learning about our favorite pollinators! Bee keeper and maker Bliss Benson will lead students through the process of coating cotton fabric with a thin layer of grated beeswax and using an iron to seal the wraps. Once cooled, the wraps can be used to replace plastic wrap or zip lock bags to wrap sandwiches, produce, bowls, and more. Naturally water resistant and simple to clean, beeswax coated food wraps can be reused many, many times before eventually being composted. Students will take home two 13” x 13” wraps and the know-how to make many more.

A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor. Suitable for ages 16+.
