Try your hand at watercolor batik, a fun and modern twist on the original Javanese technique of batik, which uses wax to produce designs on fabric. In this class, students will work from an image traced onto rice paper and then use melted wax and watercolor to create a final work of art. Each piece will uniquely represent a delicate summertime iris, mirroring the ones blooming outdoors. This unusual art form is fun and approachable, perfect for participants of all ages, interests, and skill levels to create a beautiful work of art that reflects Minnesota’s northern landscape.
