Try your hand at watercolor batik, a fun and modern twist on the original Javanese technique of batik, which uses wax to produce designs on fabric. In this class, we’ll work from an image traced onto rice paper and then use melted wax and watercolor to create a final work of art. Each piece will be a unique representation of a egret wading near a shoreline, a familiar Minnesota sight. This is a great opportunity for students who don’t feel “artsy” but are excited to learn about an unusual art form while creating a beautiful work of art that reflects Minnesota’s northern landscape. Suitable for students ages 18 and up.

A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor.
