A crayfish party. August is the traditional month for kräftskivor in Sweden, providing one last time for outdoor celebration before the end of summer. At a kräftskiva, you’ll find kräftor (crayfish), party hats and lots of snaps. När är kräftskivan? 8:e augusti! When is the crayfish party? August 8th!

Svenska för tonåringar (Swedish for teenagers) is a class for students age 13-18 who are serious about learning Swedish. In this course, you will speak, write and read in Swedish. Vi talar, skriver och läser på svenska. Kom och lär dig svenska hos oss! There are three sessions of Svenska för tonåringar based on language ability. This class meets virtually and is taught by Gunn Edberg-Caldwell.
Group 1: 5:00-6:00 PM (Central time) – for students who are new to or have limited prior Swedish study. Required materials: Group 1 will use the textbook Vardagssvenska which can be purchased through the ASI Museum Store.
Group 2: 6:00-7:00 PM (Central time) – for students who have been studying Swedish in Svenska för tonåringar for a year or with some prior Swedish study. Required materials: Group 2 will continue to use the Mål 1 textbok (övningsbok is not required), which can be purchased through the ASI Museum Store.
Group 3: 7:00 – 8:00 PM (Central time) – for students who have Swedish at home, or have been studying Swedish for two years or more. Required materials: a lättläst (abridged) book TBD purchased electronically. Students will receive more information about this closer to the start of fall term.
