Try Out Spoon Carving

Try out spoon carving in this morning-long intro class! Instructor Jess will lead students through the process of carving a spoon using a prepared wooden blank and traditional hand-carving tools. Jess will walk students through the steps they took before class to select a tree and to cut and prepare fresh wood for carving. Then, together, students will go through safe knife holds and the steps to carve their very own cooking spoon! The class will wrap up with a discussion of finishing techniques and care.
