Sweden and the Welfare State: Swedish Literature

Explore Swedish literature this summer! Over four weeks, this class will discuss the novel Sveas son: En berättelse om folkhemmet (Son of Svea: A Tale of the People’s Home) by Lena Andersson. Gain insight into social democracy and the welfare state in Sweden through the life of the main character, Ragnar Johansson. The book can be read in either Swedish or English and class discussions will be in English. The books are not available in the ASI Museum Store but can be found at the library or online.
