A colorful painted egg sits among five plain wooden ones in a yellow bowl, embodying the charm of folk artistry. Nearby, a paintbrush rests on a plate with dabs of blue, teal, yellow, and purple. The background features a floral and striped pattern.

Starting with Slöjd is a monthly program for early elementary students who want to start crafting! Whether we’re playing with wool, wire, paper, or more, we’ll explore new tools, materials, and skills that prepare kids for a lifelong love of slöjd (handcraft). ASI designed these drop-off programs for students in grades K – 2.

Anna Ruhland will teach students to paint and bead wooden eggs, drawing inspiration from Swedish folk art. Create colorful ornaments to celebrate Easter or decorate your home year-round.
