Special Edition Kids at the Castle: In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre Presents Toddler and Preschooler Storytime

This month, ASI is teaming up with In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre for a Special Edition of Kids at the Castle! Join a puppeteer storyteller and their sidekick, Turnip the dog, for a fun-filled hour of music, movement, stories, and puppets. Kids will explore puppetry, sing familiar songs, enjoy finger plays, and listen to engaging puppet tales. Perfect for ages 8 months to 5 years and their grownups!

The program begins at 9 am in Larson Hall, with doors opening at 8:30 am. After the fun, explore the museum, play in the family gallery, shop in the Museum Store, or grab a treat at FIKA Café! Includes museum admission.

About In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre:

Start with water, flour, newspaper and paint. Add a large measure of IMAGINATION and a dollop of ARTISTRY to make STORIES about our world come ALIVE through PUPPETS. This is the Heart of the Beast’s nearly 50-year-old puppet recipe. Since 1973, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre has helped to create and cultivate the puppetry community in the Twin Cities. We are a community of artists working within our larger community to create magic together. We make puppets large and small, monstrous, beautiful, silly, human, plant, animal.

You can see many of our puppets at our Free Puppet Library every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month! We use gestures, voice, form, and color, giving life to puppets that help tell stories to represent the world as it is and as we dream it could be. Join HOBT events and engage in art-making activities, listen to a puppet story, or explore our masks and puppets! More info at hobt.org or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
