Preschool Program: Autumnal Nature Explorers with Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary

Explore Swedish and Swedish American culture with your little one in these programs specifically designed for children ages 3–5 and their favorite grown-ups. Adult accompaniment is required, and advance registration is necessary for all preschool programs, with a limit of one adult per child.

Join ASI educators and Garden Naturalists for a nature-packed preschool adventure at the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary! Ever wonder what animals do to prepare for winter? Under the changing leaves, little ones will enjoy storytime and songs to learn how garden wildlife gets ready for the colder months. Through games and a guided nature hike, they’ll use their five senses to explore the trails and search for fruits that animals may store for winter.

This program meets in front of the Visitor Shelter. Walk down the stairs from the garden’s parking lot; if using a stroller, take the footpath to the far right of the stairs. Once inside the front gate, follow the trail to the left to reach the Visitor Shelter and settle in on the blankets for storytime. This program is designed for children ages 3-5 and their favorite grown-ups. Registration is limited to one adult per preschooler.

ASI may close and cancel programs in the case of severe weather. ASI contacts program registrants directly via email or phone in case of weather closures, and closure information is posted on our website and social media accounts.
In the case that ASI remains open for programming during inclement weather, absent registrants are not eligible for refunds.

This program will happen rain or shine, so dress appropriately for the weather.
