Nålbinding: The Next Step

This class runs three Sundays, January 14, 21, and 28 from 1-4 pm each session.   

Have you learned some basic nålbinding stitches? Are you ready to take the next step? In this class, you will learn how to create your own patterns to construct warm socks or mittens using your favorite stitches with textile artist Melba Granlund. This is also an opportunity to learn additional stitches and how to create decorative edging or stitching embellishments used on mittens. We will design, measure, decorate, and explore. Students will gain confidence in working independently and creating their own patterns for nålbinding projects. Suitable for ages 16+.  

Students provide their own yarn and needles to use for a final project and will receive more information in advance of class. Nålbinding needles will also be available for purchase from the instructor and a $5 materials fee covers swatch yarn and handouts.
