Swedish Christmas goat made out of straw used as a decoration during the holidays. There is a giant one built in Gävle, Sweden, every year and this year ASI has added its own oversized julbock to the collection. Hur många julbock har du hemma? How many straw Christmas goats do you have at home?

Two sessions of this popular class are offered on December 8: 10 am–12 pm and 2 pm–4 pm. Both sessions are sold out.
In many Scandinavian households, the holidays mean its time to search for tomte, each home’s small guardian with a long beard and tall red hat. In this two-hour workshop led by textile artist Melba Granlund, participants will make two of their own tomtar (about 3–4” tall), using wool roving and basic three dimensional needle felting techniques, who will be ready to head home and hide in a pocket, tree, or on a mantle. Suitable for ages 16+.
A $20 materials fee is due to the instructor in class, and covers materials and tools to make two small tomtar.
