Join authors Linda Svitak and Lee Svitak Dean, along with some of their contributors, to discuss Kitchens of Hope: Immigrants Share Stories of Resilience and Recipes from Home. This new book collects stories from contributors who hail from over thirty countries and celebrates people and cuisines worldwide who have landed in Minnesota. Like the book, this conversation will touch on their journeys to the U.S. and themes of community, resilience, opportunity, justice, hope, and celebration themes. A short Q&A will follow the roundtable discussion.
ASI’s food programs bring people together to celebrate, learn, and share stories through cooking workshops, demonstrations, dinners, and lectures. This new series, Our Shared Table, explores our neighbors’ kitchens and how food traditions evolve through the universal experience of migration and exchange.
