Hand-Sewn Leather Tote Bag

Learn the basics of sewing leather while making a sturdy and beautiful tote bag with Candace LaCosse of Hemlocks Leatherworks. In this one-day class, students will work with prepared brown oil-tanned cowhide pieces and sew together a tote (approximately 16” x 14”) and then cut and rivet on handles. Material sourcing and preparation, leather cutting, and sewing techniques will all be covered in instructor demonstrations, leaving students ready to tackle their leather projects beyond class.

Some students may also be interested in an additional half-day course to sew an accompanying wallet or clutch.
