Green Woodcarving 101

Get a taste of woodcarving in this half-day, in-person class with carving instructor Sam Gathje. This quick overview to the fundamentals of woodcarving will introduce the tools, terminology, and concepts of working with green wood. With a carving knife in hand, participants will practice simple knife grips and maybe even finish a small butter spreader. This is a great opportunity for new carvers to try out a Scandinavian style carving knife and find out if woodcarving is a good fit for them! Suitable for ages 16+, or ages 11–15 registered with an adult.
