Which dye is loved and used around the world, comes from several different plants, incorporates fermentation into the dye process, and is probably in your dresser drawer? Indigo! In this class for all experience levels, participants will play with that mysterious, transformative blue, and leave with an armful of indigo dyed textiles. Working with textile artist Lesley Darling, students will make an indigo vat together, talk space and equipment needs for home-dyers, and play with resist techniques on provided samples and items from home. Whether planning to dye at home or just trying it out for the day, this class will leave participants inspired!

A $50 materials fee covers the use of materials and tools, including several sample projects. Students are also encouraged to bring two small natural fiber items from home (e.g. a cotton t-shirt, wool socks, or linen dish towel). Additional dyeables and take home indigo kits will be available for purchase. Suitable for ages 18+.
