Felted Påskris Ornaments

Try needle felting while making sweet spring-themed ornaments for a Swedish påskris or Easter tree. In this virtual class, students will work alongside Seattle-based artist Kayla Ann and practice forming 3D objects and adding miniature details using the materials from the provided kit. Students will leave class with fundamental needle felting skills and a handful of colorful ornaments to celebrate spring.

Kit info:

Kits ($20 value) are included in the class fee. Each kit includes a felting base and wool roving for one student. Students should also have a pair of scissors on hand. Kits will be available for pick up at the American Swedish Institute starting March 27, or can be shipped for an additional $10 fee. Registration for this kit-based class closes on March 21 or whenever it sells out.

Virtual Class info:

This is a live virtual class taught over Zoom. Students need a strong internet connection and a device with video capabilities.

Prerequisites:

• Physical ability: Students need average hand and wrist dexterity for this craft, which includes repetitive motion and the ability to pinch and hold.
• Skill level: Open to all skill levels.
• Ages: Suitable for ages 16+.
