Felted Globe Luminaries

Two sessions of this popular class are available on December 13 and December 14. Both sessions are sold out.

Celebrate the winter solstice by creating felted wool luminaries, perfect for brightening up your holiday season. In this workshop, felting instructor Judy McDowell will guide you through traditional wet felting techniques. You’ll layer wool around a pattern, add soapy water, and then roll, rub, and shape the wool into lightweight globes that can be lit from within using a candle or string lights. This process requires hand strength and involves extended standing. By the end of the class, students will complete 1-2 luminaries, depending on their chosen size. Suitable for ages 16+.

A materials fee of $20-$30 is payable to the instructor, depending on the size of the luminaries made. Students are encouraged to bring 2-3 old bath towels, a bag for wet projects, and an apron.
