Join acclaimed Swedish bartender Emil Åreng to hear about the most exciting developments in the Swedish beverage scene in recent years. Åreng’s bar, FACIT, works only with Swedish ingredients and producers and has been named the best bar in Sweden since opening in Umeå in 2021. He will speak to five regions that have had great impact on distilling and bartending in Sweden and highlight his work with local producers and ingredients.
Guests may also be interested in the Chef’s Dinner with Emil on November 1, or the roundtable with Minnesota beverage industry experts on November 2.
This program offers Pay What You Can tickets with four price points: $1, discounted, a basic ticket price, and a pay it forward price. Please choose the one that feels right for you. Emil Åreng is one of Sweden’s foremost bartenders and works as an author, entrepreneur, and cocktail expert in the Swedish beverage industry. In 2021, Emil opened Facit Bar in Umeå, Sweden; Facit uses only Swedish ingredients and was recognized as the best new bar in Sweden in 2023. His newest book is Svensk Sprit – groggar bål och cocktails. For one week this fall, Emil will bring the spirit of FACIT to the American Swedish Institute with an roundtable with industry experts, chef’s dinner with FIKA café, and public lecture on the Swedish beverage scene.
