Emil Åreng is one of Sweden’s foremost bartenders and works as an author, entrepreneur, and cocktail expert in the Swedish beverage industry. In 2021, Emil opened Facit Bar in Umeå, Sweden; Facit uses only Swedish ingredients and was recognized as the best new bar in Sweden in 2023. His newest book is Svensk Sprit – groggar bål och cocktails. For one week this fall, Emil will bring the spirit of FACIT to the American Swedish Institute with an roundtable with industry experts, chef’s dinner with FIKA café, and public lecture on the Swedish beverage scene.
