Craft and Cocktails: Nature Inspired Block Prints

Grab a friend for a fall Craft and Cocktails workshop with ASI! Enjoy a signature beverage from FIKA café while working through step-by-step instructions to carve rubber print blocks inspired by Birger Sandzén’s natural paintings and prints. Just as Sandzén returned to favorite trees and scenes, students are invited to bring a photo of a favorite tree or other simple natural item (such as a leaf, flower, or pinecone) to simplify into a design for our blocks. Led by teaching artist Kayla Ann, after carving our print blocks, we’ll make some prints and discuss reusing the print blocks for paper or fabric at home.

One beverage from FIKA and all materials are included in the class fee. Open to ages 21+.
